Last night, Karrueche Tran's interview with Iyanla VanZant aired on Own and the 26 year old really opened up on a lot of issues concerning her relationship with Chris Brown. She came across like someone who was really in love and not the opportunist many think her to be. She talked about how they met, how she made him wait for months before having sex with him, what made her fall in love, the love triangle with Rihanna and also finding out he had a daughter like everyone else, online! It's juicy.
“I still love him,” Karrueche told Iyanla. “If he were to change, we’d be in a better place. But that’s the problem.”
This is so heartbreaking to hear, especially because she’s come to terms with the fact that Chris won’t change for her — especially now that he has huge responsibilities in raising his 10-month-old daughter Royalty. He’s 100 percent dedicated to his baby girl and wants to be there every step of the way, with Nia in his life.
Instead of trash talking him, Karrueche seems to understand Chris and why he is the way he is.
“He’s damaged. And I’m damaged too,” Kae said while explaining why they were attracted to each other.
She also recognizes that Chris puts out a “front” in the public eye and admits people don’t often see the real him. Karrueche said she saw the real him only behind closed doors, and that he has “a sweet, loving side.” “He makes me laugh,” she said.
When Iyanla asked if Karrueche would ever give Breezy another shot, she responded, “No. Right now, I’m saying no.”
Good for Karrueche for being strong throughout her heartbreak. Even though she still loves him, sometimes it’s best to let the ones you love go especially when they’re toxic and they’ve hurt you as deeply as Chris hurt Karrueche.
