Jonathan Reconciles With Obasanjo And Amaechi At Council Of State Meeting
It is no longer news that there has been no love lost between President Goodluck Jonathan, former president Olusegun Obasanjo and the Rivers State Governor, Chibuike Amaechi.
However, the last Council of State meeting hosted by President Jonathan yesterday, offered an opportunity for the three men to reconcile even if it was for the camera.
Before the commencement of the Council meeting, the governors across party divide were seen joking, back slapping one another and discussing in groups.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has admonished the spokesman of the APC, Alhaji Lai Mohammed to learn to be truthful, honest and desist from fabricating lies that could be injurious to democracy and peaceful co-existence in the country.
PDP National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh in a statement on Wednesday said “but for the maturity of President Goodluck Jonathan and the head of the APC’s Transition Committee, Alhaji Ahmed Joda, who cleared the air, the country would have been thrown into crisis over the false alert by Lai Mohammed that the Presidency was frustrating the transition process.

ABUJA— When Boko Haram attacked a school in the town of Chibok, in northeastern Nigeria, kidnapping more than 200 girls, on the night of April 14, 2014, the people of my country were aghast. Across the world, millions of people joined them in asking: How was it possible for this terrorist group to act with such impunity? It took nearly two weeks before the government even commented on the crime.
Military to liberate Sambisa Forest before May 29, Dasuki
Abuja—The National Security Adviser (NSA) retired Col. Sambo Dasuki promised yesterday that Sambisa Forest, the fortress of Boko Haram terrorists and one of their last remaining camps will be stormed and liberated before the May 29, 2015 presidential hand-over date.
The NSA, in a statement issued on the anniversay of the abduction of over 200 secondary school girls from Chibok, Borno State also gave an assurance that the Federal Government was making every effort to ensure that the girls with every other Nigerian abducted by terrorists are rescued.
Court okays release of Obasanjo’s book, My Watch
A Federal Capital Territory High Court sitting in Apo, Abuja, has okayed the release of former President Obasanjo’s book: My Watch, for release.
Justice Valentine Ashi ordered on the release of the book, which had been in the custody of the Nigerian Customs Service following an injunction he slammed late last year following a complaint by a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Buruji Kashamu.

Buhari Set To Lead Campaign Against Governors On Life Pension
President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari is set to lead a campaign against the pension laws for governors enacted by many states of the federation, reports Vanguard. According to the news platform’s sources, Buhari’s position is based on the incongruity of the laws under the country’s socio-economic environment.
Majority of the 36 state Houses of Assembly in the country have enacted generous pension entitlements for governors to last for life. Provisions in the pension allowances in many cases provide 100 percent pay for the incumbent governors buildings, medical allowances for them and their family members, staff, security and vehicles that are renewable every three or four years — privileges lasting for life.

The President of the Nigerian Union in South Africa, Mr Ikechukwu Anyene, on Wednesday urged the Federal Government to help halt the xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in that country. Anyene on phone from Pretoria, South Africa, said that the latest spate of xenophobic attacks began three weeks ago.
There are more than 800,000 Nigerians living in South Africa.

Mother of 13 Pregnant With Quadruplets at Age 65
A 65-year-old German mother of 13 is getting ready to give birth again — this time to quadruplets.
Annegret Raunigk, a Berlin schoolteacher who is due soon to retire, is
expected to give birth to the four babies within the next two months,
Bild newspaper and RTL television reported.
She already has children ranging in age from 9 to 44, from five fathers.
Raunigk said she decided to become pregnant again because her
9-year-old daughter wanted a younger sibling.
Her decision was met with widespread criticism by medical professionals as a risk both to her and the unborn babies.

Suleiman Hashimu or ‘The traveller’ as I prefer to call him is an indigene of Katsina state, Funtua to be precise. He was born in Osun state but lives in Ibadan.
The traveler promised two years ago to walk from where ever he is to the capital of Nigeria, Abuja if General Muhammadu Buhari wins the election in 2015.
BBC Hausa, Voice of America and Aminiya (a Hausa mgazine) interviewed him.
He was in Lagos when Buhari was declared the President-elect of Nigeria. He left Lagos at about 5am the next day and arrived Ibadan around 6pm.

Nigeria's Chibok girls 'seen with Boko Haram in Gwoza'
More than 50 of the girls abducted
by militant Islamists in Nigeria last year were seen alive three weeks
ago, a woman has told the BBC.
She saw the girls in the north-eastern Gwoza town before the Boko Haram militants were driven out of there by regional forces.Boko Haram sparked global outrage when it seized more than 219 girls from Chibok town a year ago.
The US, China and other foreign powers promised to help find the girls.
However, the girls have never been traced, and little has been heard of them since they were taken from their boarding school.
